Cllr. Malcolm Watson for Waterhouse Farm

Malcolm is 63 years old, has been married for 42 years and has 2 grown up children and 2 grandchildren. He has lived in Essex all hid life and moved to Writtle in 1996 from where he commuted to work in London in the finance industry until his retirement in 2002.

He successfully stood for election in May 2011 having been very impressed with how the current Conservative Administration has run the affairs of Chelmsford over the last 8 years. This is particularly necessary during the current era of austerity when getting value for tax payer’s money must be of the highest importance and he feels that it is only the Conservative group that has the necessary experience and depth to deliver this cost efficiency to the residents of Chelmsford. However, the more difficult task will be to try to manage Chelmsford’s finances in a way that protects our front line services upon which we all rely, but perhaps more importantly in a way that protects the more vulnerable and less fortunate members of our society. He believes that his common-sense approach and enquiring mind, together with my financial background and business management, could add to the pool of knowledge within the current Conservative administration.  Malcolm serves on the Development Policy Committee.

On matters directly affecting the residents of Waterhouse he has already been busy around the area listening and acting upon resident’s concerns about local issues whether they be about traffic problems in Waterhouse Lane, speeding in Beeches Road, parking and litter concerns in the village.
