With my family I have lived in Old Moulsham since 1980, originally in Moulsham Drive and now for the past 29 years in Lady Lane.
My working life has been one of public service, serving in Essex Police for 39 years, retiring in 2008. I then took on the role of Chief Executive for a Children’s Charity working in Essex and East London. The charity supports children and families in need.
I am a committed family man, having been married for 35 years with four adult married children and four grandchildren. I am a member of a local community church and continue to be a Governor of a local school.
Naturally I know the area of Old Moulsham and the Town Centre well and have seen it being developed positively over many years. However, as residents we must not be complacent as our residential roads can be grubby through litter, unsightly, damaged through potholes and a thoroughfare for all traffic wanting to by-pass and take shortcuts to all other parts of Chelmsford. In addition mainly at weekends our residential roads, homes and vehicles can be subject to damage and anti-social behaviour from persons getting to or moving through our estate after attending and enjoying social gatherings in our city centre.
